When you have a big project at work or school, you might find yourself wanting for inspiration. People often find that work comes faster when they are inspired, and that inspiration can come from anywhere. People traditionally find themselves inspired by the work of another, such as in music, art, or literature. But inspiration can literally come from anything. A political paper written for school can be inspired by a TED Talk from a business leader. A new jazz song can be inspired by a photographer’s trip to Paris. A creative marketing project for a business can be inspired by a movie or a television show. The key to finding inspiration comes from not being afraid to try new things and look at problems from different perspectives. Everyone has a routine that they are comfortable with. But can you move outside of your comfort zone and look for new ways to do things? Here are a few ways that you can find inspiration in your everyday life.

Think Of People You Admire

The people in your life can be a great source of inspiration. Your family members, your friends, your former teachers, your co-workers…anyone in your life can inspire you. Everyone has a different background and a different story. Sometimes that story can give you the inspiration that you need to get something done. Maybe one of your parents overcame a serious obstacle in order to be successful. Or maybe one of your friends overcame an illness as a child. Learn more about the people in your life, and you might find some inspiration for your next project.

Check Out Art

Art is traditionally thought of as the biggest source of inspiration, and rightfully so. Music, paintings, sculptures, they can all take you to another time and show you another perspective. Art helps you to think outside the box and look at the world differently, which is a great way to find inspiration so that you can be more creative.

Clear Your Mind

If you are feeling stuck, you aren’t alone. There are plenty of people who get writers block or feel like they are missing something on their latest project. A good way to get “unstuck” is to clear your mind by going for a walk, exercising in the gym, or even driving and listening to music. Getting focused on a singular task for a long time can get you stuck in the same patterns. Taking a break and clearing your mind can help you to see things differently. Stepping away and getting some perspective is always good. You might even want to ask a friend or family member who has a different perspective than you do how they might approach the same problem. Taking time away from a project you’ve been working on might seem counter-intuitive at first, but it can really be a great way to breathe some fresh air into what you are working on.
